Abh mod/Antiproton Cannon
The antiproton cannon and antiproton cannon 2 were the very first part conversion of the vanilla beam weapon. At the time it was the most difficult part to be created. The difficulty encountered was the inability to combine energy consumption with a bullet shot due to inherent differences between beam/fixed weapon and cannon/turret weapon. It's also the first part to introduce a charging component to simulate and control the rate of fire. As it was not possible until mod support became available the weapons first used regular plasma battery as a power source.
As of mod version 0.4.6 the antiproton cannons have been converted to use antimatter as the main power source. The cannons have now two firing modes: pulse and beam. By selecting the weapon two UI buttons for the weapon will appear. Each one button turns either firing mode on or off.
In pulse mode the cannon fires a powerful shot with a firing arc of 45 degrees and a forced interval of 5.3 seconds due to charging. In beam mode the cannon fires a weaker beam with a firing arc of 10 degrees until energy depletion. This should occur in about 8 seconds. The cannon was designed to be used by small ships and to offer a tactical ace in the hole at the right time. Therefore its power demand was low but required a long charging time to fully power.

In pulse mode the cannon fires a powerful shot with a firing arc of 45 degrees and an interval of .3 second. In beam mode the cannon fires a weaker beam with a firing arc of 10 degrees until energy depletion. This should occur in about 10 seconds. The cannon was designed for larger and more energy producing ships.
