Added in Update:

Abh 0.7.0

The Jeffry Tube was introduced in 0.7.0.

Overview

The jeffry tube was originally designed as a new supply system with the new storage system in Cosmoteer 0.15.3. However, the system was not useful as expected. Currently is has no real function. This may change in the future.

Usage

Use and build it like corridor parts.

As of Abh 0.7.2 (RC3) it can supply power batteries, water and antimatter to network parts or storage next to it. It can supply consumers up to a distance of 10 tiles.

Like the Supply Corridor, the resources have to be pumped by the various types of nodes into the network first.

Note: The distribution feature the jeffry tubes are using is based on equilibrium between storages. In this case a fuller storage fills a less filled storage until both are equal. This means both sides cannot be 100% full. At best the 100% filled side shares half a battery with the less filled side. Even when keep filling the sharing side the fill amount can only approach the fill limit but can never reach it.

Building recommendations

  • If you are building to Star Trek lore there will be gabs between jeffry tube networks. In order to connect them you have to use Supply Corridor parts.

Changes

  • Abh 0.7.2 (RC3): Finally converted to a supply network system by adopting the new storage sharing system using buffing. Power batteries, water and antimatter can only be transferred to network parts or storage next to it. It can supply consumers up to a distance of 10 tiles.
