The NERA Reactive Armor was introduced in 0.4.7 to answer requests for Reactive armour. The parts provided are designed after non-energetic reactive armour (NERA).

Overview

Usage

Used the same way as other armor parts. At the beginning it provides superior penetration resistance. NERA Reactive Armor wears off over time, though. As more damage is inflicted on it its penetration resistance wains dramatically. Overall it still provides greater protection than vanilla armor.

Building recommendations

  • As it's a lighter armor type it's best used for small ships or fighters.
  • It's recommended to layer it with vanilla armor in the back.
