Crew movement in this tile is 1. Most components have a movement speed of 0.5 so its double speed. This means its quicker to use corridors if you need to travel more then 4 blocks if it will take a 1 block detour. In this example the first 3 will be restocked by going through components

but 4 and 5 will be restocked through the corridor.

Its not faster when congested so the speed will plummet from 1 to .3. So ensure adequate width if its the main backbone of your ship.

As of Cosmoteer 0.12.11 corridor parts can be self-destructed. This allows corridors to be used to separate a child ship from the mothership (like the Explosive Charge).
