The Point Defense is a part that automatically targets incoming missiles.
The Point Defense on its own, has a high change of missing the target. Although it can be very effective when used in large quantaties. It can be used on smaller ships as a form of defense since the point defense doesn't need crew to operate and only needs crew to refill the energy.
Protection
The weapon has a arc of 67.5 degrees. 2x1 armor wedge will not obstruct its arc.(verification needed)
